It could be a lot worse (in terms of getting Republicans out of power)...
1) Despite every speech by the Administration, and lies by the media, Bush's approval number are back down to 39%.
2) It is common knowledge that the Administration has failed in Iraq. Not the case two years ago.
3) It is common knowledge that the Republican party is corrupt. We took down Delay, Cunningham and Libby. Soon we will take down Rove and Frist. Not the case two years ago.
4) Democrats are polling 15 points higher than the Republicans (no thanks to the Democrats).
5) Public opinion polls are slowly turning on the "spying on Americans" program.

Please add more... It may help with to ease your pain.
