Do you believe the place where you live is realistically a target of terrorists? Yes, No, Not sure
Do you believe the place where you work is realistically a target of terrorists? Yes, No, Not sure
…the federal government is wasting money making federal buildings in smaller cities safe from terror attacks? Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure :wtf:
Do you believe that the American people (followed by questions asking the same thing about the gov’t., Republicans and Democrats) have adopted a post-9/11 mentality or are they still living in a pre-9/11 world? Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure :wtf:
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: "9/11 mentality"--that is sooooo Bush Administration, I won't respond to that
On a scale of 1 to 5 (1 not at all prepared—5 extremely well prepared), how well prepared is the government for Nuclear attack on a major city/large gathering; Biological attack on a major city/large gathering; Chemical attack on a major city/large gathering; A tsunami hitting a heavily populated coastal city; A Category 4 or 5 hurricane hitting a heavily populated coastal city; A very major earthquake such as the predicted "Big One" on the San Andreas Fault; A cyber-terror attack
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: The poll is all about terror and Bush's agenda
Is the federal government more prepared to deal with another 9/11-type attack or another major hurricane like Katrina? Another 9/11-type attack, Another hurricane like Katrina, Both, Neither, Not Sure
Which poses a greater threat to the security of the United States? Domestic terror groups or international terror groups? Domestic terror groups, International terror groups, Not sure
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: I chose domestic terrorists--meaning the Bush Administration
Which event has had a more significant impact on the U.S. (followed by same question asking about impact on your life, history)? The 9/11 terror attacks or Hurricane Katrina? 9/11-type attack, Hurricane Katrina, Neither, Not sure
What should the primary role of the federal government be in dealing with natural disasters(followed by same question for terror attacks)? To pay for disaster relief and repair To help local and state governments with advance planning To take over all disaster responses Only to respond when state and local resources are exhausted To create bridges between state and local governments, non-government organizations and the private sector It should have no role and leave response to private sector and non-governmental organizations None of the above Not sure
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: Why the identify crisis all of a sudden? How did every administration before Bush know the answer to this? I call bullshit.
Which has done the most to weaken your trust in institutions of power? 9/11 terror attacks, Hurricane Katrina, Enron and other private sector scandals, Catholic Church sex scandals, None of the above, Not sure
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: I can think of other answers--and, "catholic church sex scandals" is a choice? Gimmeabreak.
Candidate A: "We must continue to support the Iraq War, ...to preserve our nation's honor. Our troops must stay until they are victorious."
Candidate B: "We got rid of Saddam Hussein and can accomplish no more. Our continued presence in the region is counterproductive. There is nothing more we can do, so we should bring the troops home now." Candidate A, Candidate B, Neither Not sure
MY THOUGHT ON THIS QUESTION: All "Candidate B" can say is that? Bullshit. There are many other choices for a response.
The Iraq questions...
America has made a lot of progress in the war, but needs to be much more aggressive in fighting against insurgents, including more missiles and heavy artillery, to finish them off. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
While I am bothered by the continual violence and ongoing deaths of American soldiers, I believe America is winning the war against insurgents and that the enemy will eventually be worn down to the point where they will give up and stop rebelling. The troop levels are adequate, and the troops should stay until the job is done. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
I believe that the U.S. has accomplished all it realistically can, and to remain longer will not benefit Iraq or American soldiers. It's time for a phased withdrawal of troops. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
While I was in favor of the war in the beginning, I now feel that too many American soldiers have died and I don't see an end to the insurgent attacks. Therefore, I don't believe that we can last long enough to prevail, and should be withdrawn on a phased, but rapid, timetable. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
America should not have gotten involved in Iraq, and American forces are dying every day because of it. Troops should be withdrawn immediately. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
America can never win the war in Iraq because the region has been unstable for too long and the presence of American soldiers only encourages more people to join the insurgents. Iraqis should be left to sort out their own future without American or allied intervention. Strongly agree, Somewhat agree, Somewhat disagree, Strongly disagree, Not sure
I stopped answering at this point, which represents about 38% of the poll. The underlying bias was just too much for me. I'm sorry I provided the answers for 38%.
