"My son just sent me the following post requesting help for his friend who is doing one of those sitins to win a car. If you read about the 3 finalist, I have a feeling you would want to vote for him even if he wasn't a returning soldier from Iraq. I had to try 2 or 3 times to get into the site, it is evidently very busy."

Kansas City, G.I. Shane has a chance to win a car, but needs your votes. After proudly serving in Iraq for a year, Shane is scheduled to return there in March. He wants the car for his wife. "She deserves it," he says. "Before I left we had a little baby girl, who was 12 weeks premature. My wife had to put up with me leaving, then driving about 50 miles every day to see our daughter in ICU for three months - as well as taking care of our eight year old son. She's amazing!"

Shane is currently involved in a contest to win a new minivan. All he has to do is sit in a car longer than the other two remaining contestants. The radio station has decided to end the contest today and allow an Internet vote to determine the winner. Please go to the mix93.com site and place a vote for Shane.

My once very Republican brother is serving over there and boy did it ever change his party loyalty!

And it's harder to convince someone they're fighting for a lie once they've shed or spilled blood.

The more you've invested in an idea, the harder it is to change your mind.

You'd be surprised how many soldiers are still saturated in GOP Kool-aid.
