Dean gets full hour on Russert Sunday
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3898804/

For those non Dean supporters, how about giving him a chance for one hour? You say you don't hear real plans, I bet you will if you listen. You say he's too angry, I bet you'll be angry too.

During the NH campaign while volunteering for Dean, I made an effort to hear every candidate either in person or C-span. Dr. Dean deserves the same from all of you.

This is a man who's put his future on the line for what he believes. Doesn't he deserve to be heard?

3. Gotta wonder what GENBC's motive is ....
Almost seems like the media is trying to blur the Dem race to the point that only 'logical' choice for any undecided's is the Shrub.

:scared:

5. I am not sure this is an altogether good thing...
I can see 5-10 minutes on the scream, 10-15 minutes on why do you pick on Kerry, 10-15 minutes on running out of money and having to adjust strategy and the rest being filled with commercials.

And the whole time Dean has to sit like a lump and be accused of being "flat" in order to avoid being being accused of being non-presidential.

To pull this off Dean is going to have to look like he is in control of the message rather than being reactionary, and he is going to need to sustain that for the entire show. Tough duty. I hope he can pull it off.

7. Dean is no lump
did you hear his interview with Hannity? He kicked butt! :)

He's got nothing to lose at this point and is going to fight like hell to get his message heard. He's not going to let the Russerts and Hannitys beat him down.

8. I think they're feeling guilty
its started with Chris M and now Russert. I think MSNBC is trying to give something back and I bet Russert gives the Gov. the pitches he needs and not the same old bs.

11. I don't think it has anything to do with guilt so much as it has
to do with the letters they got from their audiences. One thing the networks don't want to do is lose audience share--it's what their revenue is based on.

10. screams and Diane Sawyer
did anyone see her Mea Culpa on ABC news with Jennings on wednesday?

That mike that Dean used at the infamous concession speech was one that filters out outside noise and amplifies the voice on the mike. She showed how that speech sounded to people in the room that night...even reporters who were there didn't get it...until the TV whores started playing the version that was recorded off that mike...

Much ado about nothing detroys the best candidate we have?

what is going on here? this is pathetic.

13. I think many people are now aware
of the microphone enhanced scream that wasn't really a scream and the collective media is now trying to scrape egg off their face to retain what little credibility they have left. I was amazed to see the other day Chris Mathews shut up long enough to actually let Dean speak - and what he said was great - focusing somewhat even on the 30 year inept republican foreign policy in central america, mentioning the PNAC, iran/contra middle east etc. I did note however, it was more of a polite cool attitude from Mathews. If they feel bad enough to allow Dean to speak longer than just a sound bite - he may have a chance to get his great ideas at least heard. Now that he is not the frontrunner they have no reason to trash him so vociferously for ratings, and he has created such a stir they cannot ignore him.

15. To be honest
Pretty much everyone on a board like this has herd Dean hundreds of times. Behaving hmself for one hour is not going to cut it.

It is interesting how when the New Hampshire firefighters union was looking for someone to endorse they said about Dean:

many of us have only one purpose left during this campaign and that is to block a Dena comeback and if posisble cause a further slide in his polling numbers and furtther drain from his support.

MOnths ago I stated that in the end, Dena would only be left with a small core of supporters, the originl hundred thousand or so who supported him on the internet. Oddly enough, though I have never supported Dean. I am one of those original internet supporters he claims, as he claims anyone who signes up for his website as a supporter. The are not. Dean will end up with one of the lowest vote counts in primary history.

16. Corp Media Still Give Dean more time than Kerry or Edwards. Check it.

The media big-wigs have done everything possible to make-up for
the Iowa problem and bring Dean back. The even tried to boost Dean
for a win in NH. Someone try to deny that they were trumpeting Dean's resurgence up till the day of the voting.

I like Dean, but it really bugs me how his supporters can see that
he was that media Darling and flubbed it by his own missteps.

Media indexes show that Dean got twice the mentions of any candidate and many times more air time, most of it positive before Iowa.

The media will continue to boost Dean probably till March. I just ask my fellow Dems who support Dean to take the losses gracefully if that happens and let's all focus on the main goal.
