Poll question: Which one would you vote for?
Mid-term (s)election campaigning is beginning. In many states it appears many Dem/Repug incumbents are going to get a run for their money in the primaries.

Set aside political affiliation and assume the candidate's positions are identical on the issues - however:

Candidate A would support impeachment

Candidate B does not support impeachment

Which would you vote for?

2. not really
there are some Dems that I know of who don't think impeachment is the appropriate at this time

they see it as a witchhunt (even though they don't like bush*), would widen the divisions between red/blue and would not benefit the country as a whole

some are against impeachment because that would put Cheney in the big chair (officially) - this scares them more than a couple more years with bush*

3. What these triangulators don't get is that
bush will not be impeached, but the attempt to impeach him will put him further under a cloud, making it even more difficult for him to execute more of the wingy dingy's plans to destroy America--hopefully making it a little easier to repair the damage when this awful nightmare begins to fade.

6. Impeachment will not remove the freak in chief from office
we have to impeach and remove (convict in the Senate) Successful article of impeachment is a majority vote in the House which I imagine is doable if we won back the House. Convicting and removing takes two thirds vote of the Senate which is never going to happen. The freak will not be removed from office.

However that does not mean supporting impeachment is a bad thing because for all intents and purposes their agenda will come to a SCREACHING hault while the process goes on - and just on principle sake the SOB should be impeached - but too often as in the statement that they don't want him impeache because Cheney will replace him is completely inaccurate. Bill Clinton WAS impeached Al Gore never replaced him....please everyone stop equating impeachment with removal.

4. What is each persons rationale
Is the person supporting impeachment simply doing it as a political stunt to recruit his base? What is the basis for his support? Does he know what he is talking about?

5. That's a bro nainer
I've learned to pick candidates based on their records, not their rhetoric.

7. I think if the Dems retake congress
Bush is toast. There will be so many investigations that Bush would invite impeachment just to get away.

8. I think a better question would be...
Would you vote for a Republican who supports impeachment over a Democrat who does not?
