of interesting stuff about these guys at
http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/But it's easy to get onto H*burton and grow dispondent about their absurd profits that are one-third of the money Congress approved for Iraqi reconstruction projects. More difficult is to follow some other money trails.
Right now my fave is QinetiQ, the British government defense company that sold one-third of its stock to Carlyle. QinetiQ, eager to maximize its interests, acquired some American businesses and now describes itself as
"We're dedicated to keeping America secure. Our expertise in homeland security covers a raft of essential issues, from airport scanning and border and transport control to cyber security."
They are into lots of high tech stuff, including nanomaterials,
"We're world leaders in scanning, imaging and sensor technology, which can be applied to anything from detecting suspect vehicles to securing mobile communications."
Check 'em out--
