MO and Clark. What's the deal?
Someone posted some Zogby numbers for Missouri here the other day. As far as I know they were post-NH numbers. Clark was polling somewhere in the single digits? What gives. Methinks he'd be very popular in a neighboring state. No?

FWIW, looks like us Okies are the only smart ones. ;) He leads by a decent margin here.

2. No one ever polls New Mexico, apparently, but last I heard
(Richardson after the SOTU), Wes was leading here. He's spending a lot of time in New Mexico--a rally in the plaza in Old Mesilla, 1 mile south of Las Cruces, at 11 a.m. this morning, and back to Albuquerque Monday 2/2 for a rally at the Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 4th St. SW at 11 a.m.

That plus his Hispanic connections (his new grandson, Wesley Pablo Oviedo Clark III is half Hispanic) and his wide support among Native Americans should put the Land of Enchantment firmly in the General's corner.

5. "Conventional wisdom" seems to be ruling the day
Before Iowa there was zero primary buzz here. Many people still don't care from what I can tell.

Since Iowa the positive media coverage for Kerry and Edwards as well as the negative stories on Clark and Dean seemed to have manifested themselves in the polls here.

7. The people who responded to the poll responded on name recognition
From what my daughters professor said. Not based on any knowledge of the candidates stands on issues. He said that based on the follow-up questions in the poll. Not sure how to prove or disprove but that'sthe only thing I've heard.

Plus, the local broadcast news never mentions Clark in any reportings about the primaries. The only names you hear are Kerry, Edwards and then bad stuff about Dean.

Go figure...Hard to do well based on name recognition if no one mentions your name.
