GOP fatwa to Der Gropinator: Fire aide or we withdraw reelection backing
Restive GOP Activists May Stage Revolt

SACRAMENTO — Republican activists disenchanted with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Thursday that they will try to strip the governor of the party's endorsement unless he fires his new chief of staff, Democrat Susan P. Kennedy.

Restive Republicans said they would rally conservatives behind a resolution, to be offered at the state GOP convention in San Jose next month, that may give Schwarzenegger an ultimatum: Dump Kennedy by March 15 or the party will withdraw its backing of his reelection bid.

Drafts of the resolution are circulating, and proponents of the idea are planning to meet in Palm Springs this weekend to discuss strategy.

The insurgent party members said they are attempting to mobilize support among gun owners, abortion opponents and other conservatives. "We've gotten to the point where we've just had it with the guy," said Michael Schroeder, an attorney from Corona del Mar and a former chairman of the California Republican Party. "It's become clear that he's no longer pursuing a Republican agenda."

1. ONE question:
WHY THE HELL CAN'T THE DEMS SHOW THIS KIND OF SPINE?

Just refuse to endorse Joe Lieberman. Is that so hard? Do we really WANT a wholly-owned subsidiary of the banking/credit cartel to represent US?

irritatedly,
Bright

2. Did you mean Fat Lip, or Fatwa?
Just checking. Can't be too sure with the Republican culture of corruption.

3. The Republicans have gone so far to the right that they can't
get elected in this state. Democrats are simply in the majority in this state. We need a charismatic personality to run for governor. That's what we need to take back the governor's office.

4. My guess is that they're sabre rattling.
They need him as much as he needs them. He's the incumbant, no one's strong enough to take him on (within his own Party). I highly doubt Arnie will drop her as it will make him look weak and that hurts the Ahnie "mystique."

5. You heard it hear first. The Gropinator is going to pull an LBJ and
withdraw from the race for Governor. I don't have any inside info, it is just a hunch.
