from NPR "Group Offers Money for Reports on Left-Wing Faculty
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 01:32 AM by JWS
by Elaine Korry
Morning Edition, January 19, 2006 · A conservative alumni group is offering to pay students at the University of California-Los Angeles to monitor professors who have been branded as left-wing radicals. Faculty at UCLA are alarmed over what some are calling a campus witchhunt."

I don't know if a link to this article has been posted yet but I thought it was an interesting look at how
gestapo like the Right Wing's tactics have become

3. Isn't it a hoot that they are going to pay
for this "information" about professors, though?

1. An open acknowledgement that they pay $ in order to hear what they want to hear. It worked with certain "journalists" after all, though they seem to think that students will work for far less.

2. They've just destroyed the credibility of their own supporters. From now on, if anyone complains about any liberal professors anywhere, we will wonder if the student accepted money. Can you see someone going to one of the hearings in PA and admitting that they took or expect payment?

5. Oh, but it's only $100 lol
$100 is a lot to a college student, especially if all you have to do is make stuff up.

It is that the info = money. Nothing else to consider when considering info.

6. Seriously
In the middle of this whole Cunningham, Delay, and 30 Congressman getting bribed by Abramoff fiasco, this might not be the best time to let stuff like this get into the open, the public might just realize they've been duped.

10. Are they going to slip tickets out of the country into the lunch bags
of "intellectuals"?

(Something I read in a book about the rise of the Nazis - one of the tactics of a high-up person I can't recall the name of - used to slip faked train tickets to Jerusalem into the lunch bags of the Jewish kids at school)
