Every half day a new Democratic leader needs to stand up and be counted. They can't slag everyone. Come on Dems, you can do it!!

Dennis - I know you've got an awesome speech ready!
Cynthia - You get this afternoon
Howard - you do tomorrow morning
Nancy - tomorrow afternoon
Dianne - the following morning (try to sound like a Democrat)
Joe - get out of the way, there's some REAL leaders coming in!
Barbara - kick their asses next...

Come on people, strike while the bastard's on his knees!

4. Sometimes demanding real change is better done from the outside
Think of Martin Luther King and the other civil rights leaders - they led the way before the Congress/President were doing anything. They turned public opinion.

Several Congressmen and Senators have said that the wire taps, secret prisons, signing agreements ect are a gross unwarrented expansion of Presidential power. Gore's speech was a strong statement that put these accusations into historical perspective. I really think the Democrats on the Judiciary should have mainly gone after Alito's supposed approval of the signing agreement and some of the other expansions of Presidential power.

These issues concern true conservatives as well as us - if he is as bad on this as it appears, it would have been a good strategy to try to get their base to push their Senators to vote against it. It would seem a more likely winner than abortion (which many Republicans ran against) or Princeton clubs.

2. Hillary is an opportunist
and under the control of the corporatists. Same boss, different face. Big deal.
