If a Gore speech falls in a forest, does anyone hear it?
the best speech I've heard in recent months is completely ignored by the news media.
so, except for us and cspan watchers, its as if it never occurred.

George Orwell was a prophet.

1. Ain't it the truth?
George was indeed a prophet, and the world would be a much better place if more people read, and understood, the man, and took the appropriate actions.

2. It's stunning.. They can't even mention that it happened
Let alone report the details.

As far as I'm concerned the traditional fourth estate no longer exists. The Internet is all we have left.

4. We need an echo chamber.
We must have our party get on message. We must be disciplined for the entire year.

5. it will be heard by the Democratic Party
they heard what he said ... whether they'll choose to heed his advice remains to be seen ...

Gore's speech should be the Party's roadmap ... i'm not holding my breath ...

6. You CAN do something about that....
each of us are our OWN media.... tell EVERYONE you know about
this speech, pass along the video (on CSPAN.com now),
write positive letters to the editors and show producers, etc...
This speech CAN (and will) light the country on fire (in a good way)
It's up to all of us to get the word out and get this thing going.
I'd quote AL here but I don't know where to start.... so many powerful ideas.

WOW !!!!!

9. I thought Reid's shutting down speech was very good, and
a couple of Dean's were very to the point.

 not sure what point you're hoping to make?

12. Ahhh... I remember you were there for Reids speech and posted on DU
about it.

My comment wasn't meant to sound snarky...sorry. I haven't heard a speech as good as Gore's since his last speech....so that's why I asked.

I take your word on Reid's. I haven't heard his or others live to be able to compare anything with this blockbuster by Gore. :hi:

14. no problemo. Actually, I wasn't implying any previous speeches outdid
today's speech, just pointing out its the best I've heard in quite a while.

the best meaning: the best. Not even with previous, but the best.
Sorry I'm not being clear today.

:)

13. There are several - Here are a few
- Kerry gave an excellent speech on terror - that Reed highlighted as one of several Democrats speaking on different issues. He also gave a great speech oulining an Iraq exit plan.

-Edwards gave a very good speech on poverty.

What do they have in common? Very little coverage by the press.

8. So, make sure you make noise about it! Once again, we must BE the media!
Gore put a well passed ball in place. Least we can do is run with it instead of standing around wringing our hands.

BE THE MEDIA

Let Congress know you agree with Gore. Send them transcripts with parts highlighted! Write LTTE with Gore quotes and why you know the issues are important.

Get people talking it up. We KNOW MSM is in the hands that also control the junta. So, we work around that.

The US was born because a small but dedicated bunch of people made it happen. They were a minority... in the beginning.

And they didn't even have the internet!

Be the media.

10. That's a good thing to do.
I'm not speaking against doing that, just making an observation how I witnessed a GREAT speech and couldn't find mention of it all anywhere else.
Commenting how messed up the media is in this regard.

thanks.

11. Gore would only be news to them if he gave this speech while running
for President. Maybe, he needs to write a powerful book and go the route of the talk circuit.

15. Let's do something about it and start calling/emailing the networks
demanding coverage.

This speech is too important to our democracy to let them ignore it.
