Dr. Martin Luther King, we salute you! - today's cartoon
I hope you will join me in saluting one of the greatest Americans of all, the late Dr. Martin Luther King, whom we honor today. We use a quote from one of his speeches, a quote that is applicable today.

4. Hey, larissa! Good to see the midnite readers!
I wanted to use a quote that everyone else doesn't use.

This was from the I HAVE A DREAM speech, but in another part, one that is seldom quoted.

Thanks for reading.

Feel free to pass it on.

9. thanks neil
You want to march up there and present them with an insufficient "check" like Dr. Martin Luther King presentad at the Lincoln Memorial or just nail a condemnation to the Castle door, as Martin Luther did a few hundred years earlier?

14. How can an email with a cartoon attached take 5 hours to arrive?
My partner on this cartoon is an artist in Canada. We do all our work by email. We started noticing a month or two ago that when he would send me the completed product in early evening, it wouldn't arrive to me until late in the evening, sometimes too late for me to evaluate and use for the next day.

I have written three cartoons for this week, all about the bombing that killed the Pakistanis, and all three took over 5 hours to get to me. How can an email leave Canada at 10:30 PM and not arrive down here in the States for 5 hours?!

Anyone have any ideas?

Oh yeah, one more thing. We had a visitor to the cartoon from SAC headquarters last night.

I think I'll write some about American Gulag, the descent into fascism by the Bush administration.

Much of my email to key Democrats in other states got a great deal slower... sometimes taking 12 hours... I just started mailing more stuff, especially to republicans I know... You want a tin-foil hat? I've got a spare! I have a new victim for your gifts: Read my post ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST IN THE ABRAMOFF SCANDAL for another one of your great cartoons.

21. Yes, I did see Boondocks. Very moving.
Catwoman had a thread on it last night.

I like Boondocks, anyway, but the MLK story was fantastic.

I'm going to watch that one over and over.

24. Thanks for reading everyone. New one goes up at 11:40 Central
The new one for Tuesday goes up at 11:40 PM central.

We're going to hit hard on one issue the next three days:

The bombing in Pakistan that killed 18 civilians, allegedly to "get" Al Qaeda's number two man. How many times have they announced getting him?
