Kerry Says Iran Making “Dangerous” Nuclear Choice
Kerry Says Iran Making “Dangerous” Nuclear Choice
January 12, 2006

Speaking to reporters in India, John Kerry said Thursday that Iran was making a dangerous choice in pushing ahead with its nuclear ambitions.

“Iran has made a dangerous and silly decision of confronting not just the U.S. government but the entire international community,” Kerry told reporters in the southern Indian technology hub of Hyderabad during a visit to India.

Kerry’s statement came as officials from Britain, France and Germany plan to meet their counterparts from China, Russia and the United States in London next week to discuss Iran’s decision to restart sensitive nuclear work.

Kerry said Iran could be referred to the U.N. Security Council if the crisis continued.

4. Kerry's a UN man. He wants it settled in the UN to avoid
the kind of war Bush wants.

This is warning from a longtime nonproliferation advocate, not a war profiteer. Sometimes people confuse the two.

6. that's a good point
he's not doing Bush's work, just trying to do the right thing. If only Iran would listen to reason on this, it's not going to help them it's a poor choice

Make Bush have to PROVE war is necessary using his Iraq=tested credibility. See how it goes over THIS time with the UN.

3. And they did only because
of Bush. If I remember correctly they started teaming up with North Korea after Bush attacked Iraq.

7. Kerry trying to show Dems are on top of things. Wont matter. CIA gave
Iran a nuke last year. When Iran announces it had a Nuke, the MSM will blame the Democrats, say that they prevented Bush from focusing on the nuclear threat in Iran by pestering him with problems at home like Fitz, Iraq and Katrina. Watch and see if they dont.

8. I'd like to know what JK thinks of all the visits Rummy, Condi have made
to Iran's neighbors--Turkey, for example. It looks like they are notifying Iran's neighbors that we may well be "taking out" Iran's nukes.

The question is, will Congress be able to stop Bush or will he just go around Congress, knowing he cannot get approval to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities.

I say the latter.

9. When he grilled Condi during her hearing
he kept bringing up Sy Hersh's article in the NYT about our prior planning in Iran. He couldn't get her to admit anything. But I do believe he's fully aware of what is coming, and is seeking diplomacy to stop it.
