CNN-Congressman: Abramoff a 'good person'
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 02:08 AM by adarling
Sorry if someone already posted this but this sums up a typical republican, the guy could be a mass murderer but since we both went to strip clubs and did shooters off a whore's chest, he's a good guy. Bunch of asses

Congressman: Abramoff a 'good person'
Lobbyist is a friend who made mistakes, Rohrabacher says

Monday, January 9, 2006; Posted: 8:12 p.m. EST (01:12 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rep. Dana Rohrabacher came to the defense of disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff on Monday, saying he's a good person who has been unjustly criticized.

"They're portraying Jack as a monster. I see him more as a good person who's done bad things and has to be punished for doing bad things," Rohrabacher, a California Republican and longtime friend of Abramoff, said in a phone interview.

"I think that he obviously has done some things that are wrong and illegal and he's going to have to pay the price for it," Rohrabacher said. "I think that a lot of other things that have been characterized as corruption on the part of Abramoff are actually standard operating procedures for lobbying in Washington, D.C. -- arranging trips and things like that.

"So I think that he's received a lot of unjust criticism."

4. I guess the obvious corollary of that ...
... is that Clinton was a bad person, who DID INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC THINGS!

And doesn't Rohrbacher have ties to Mr. Abramoff, too ...

2. If things Abramoff has done is standard operating
procedure, then there are a whole lot of congresscritters who need to lose their jobs.

3. His comment doesn't make a licko' sense...
He says he's done things that were "wrong and illegal" .. but that he's been "unjustly criticized"?

5. It seems contradictory, but ...
"wrong and illegal" = "unjustly criticized"

I guess that's what they learned in those WH ethics classes ...

7. Any bets that the moment...
... Rohrabacher's name shows up in a news story as directly related to the investigation that the Insane One from CA will be screaming to anyone who will listen that Abramoff is an asshole? :P

11. Hey, okay, he's not a monster
He is, however, a mobster. Nothing more. Nothing less. The fact that he's bought and paid for dozens of Congressmen makes him a mobster with chutzpah. Would Rohrabacker show similar support for John Gotti? "Hey, but he's such a nice mobster. . . "
