Bush is down to the last few arrows in his quiver....
For the last four years, he's been preaching fear and terror. But, that arrow has been shot, and Iraq is sliding fast into all-out civil war. So he pulls the economy arrow out of his quiver and tells people how strong and straight is the arrow. But the people see and feel. They know what they know. They know Bush is lying. He is down to his desperate bottom. His lies and bullshit have run out. There is nothing to do but face the truth. Unfortunately for Mr Bush, that is something he has never done in his life. When this economy lie is put to rest, his quiver will be empty. His credibilty shot - he will have nowhere to run.

1. Well, Mr. Optomistic, I hope you're right! But...
the crooks who do all of Shrub's work will probably come up with something...lies and scams to be sure, but SOMETHING!

2. They are running scared.....
They do not wish to be seen as accomplices in the great fall about to happen. :) Because they know jail is waiting for them too...

3. It may not be Bush...
but I think the thing that will kill the Reagan revolution will be when the media, and the billions of dollars they represent, can no longer avoid the menace of global warming.

4. how can the dow be pushing on 11k?
i know those freaks can just say stuff to create the force of fact (in the newsmedia) but with money?....even the harshest nazipooh usually won't lie to himself about the money situation....yet the dow's just shy of 11 thousand and will go over next week or so (and the huzzahs we hear then will be deafening!)
way to go bush incorporated!
:sarcasm:

5. That's another lie to be put to rest....
Wall St is not Main Street. A lot of money in the hands of the wealthy has to go somewhere. It's emblematic of the transfer of wealth more than anything else. They have declared class war on the majority of America.

7. People had their pension in the market and lost all or most
during his term.

I don't care if it pops up to 20k for two months, it's not going to ofset the losses for the rest of us.

8. The Way They're Pushing This Lie...
...is by equating corporate profits with economic growth.

Even with the media's constant building up of this moron, people can recognize their empty pockets!

I would not be surprised if they have been printing more money to pump up the market. It's
interesting to see that Mr. Greenspan has flown the coop. Stay tune for further
rumbles in the economy.

17. Greenspan is about 110 years old. He kind of had to retire.
Probably his term was up and he figured he was too old for another full term.

11. The DOW ...
.... hasn't even kept up with inflation the last 5 years. Only the financially innumerate think it's doing well.

Oh wait, that's most of America :)

Although that's where the Dow was in 2000, so it's not such a big thing anyway.

Or each other's stocks.

18. Oh, and the way big corporations are freezing their pension plans,
(IBM is the latest. IBM!) there's going to be one heck of a lot less institutional money to feed that stock market.

That's not going to be pretty.

6. i think he'll go down in history as the lamest duck ever
nixon had a huge amount of political clout after his 49 state reelection, until watergate brought him down.

bush has been a big fat zero. his only power is what he arrogantly arrogates to himself by fiat.

13. Not exactly
No matter what he still has a subservient media at his beck and call. He has the Repug infrastructure in the judiciary and congress. And he will always have the bedrock, head-in-the-sand, support of 35% of the US population. He also can use the fears and hopes of the country against us. The Repug disinformation machine is running full out. And, people want to believe things will get better.

20. Please keep in mind Iran and the ability to frighten and terrorize his own
people. This is the next thing to happen. Iran is perhaps next to go and I fear for the use of Nuclear arsenal in his attempt to sow more seeds of discontent and frantic searching for a father figure. I am not able to shake the belief that he will do this, and please keep in mind that he is fully capable of attacking his own people. We are the enemy to him in so many ways already. It is naive and innocent beyond belief that the American people do not put cuffs on him immediately.
