7. Nope not Feingold - confusing thread
Feingold is giving back campain contributions from the firm Abramoff worked for - he didn't get anything from Abramoff.

The plea deal statement in the thread is refering to Abramoffs deal to rat on the politicians who accepted bribes among other things. (again no Feingold involvement)

4. The money was just from the law firm and not even from Abramoff
We are not aware that any donation to our campaign committee is tied to Mr. Abramoff, but because he worked at the law firm during the time we received contributions from others at Greenberg Traurig, we have decided to return those contributions," Aldrich said"

The freepers must be desparate if they are trying to spin this on Feingold.

5. Abramoff gave NOTHING to Dems directly.
There were two types of indian types Abramoff dealt with...

1) Ones he screwed

2) Ones he took money to bribe congressmen with.

Dems took campaign contributions from #1. Dems usually vote in favor of Indian tribes building casinos anyway, so why bribe them.

Repukes took #2.

10. Yup. What idiot would steal and launder money to avoid finance laws...
...only to turn around and "spread it around" to both sides?? Jack was a money pipeline for the Party of Nixon. Plain and simple.

NGU.

6. None of the ILLEGAL donations went to Dems. None.
The Dems took LEGAL donations from Jack's clients - the ones from whom Jack stole megabucks. So they were the victims, not the criminals.

NGU.

8. Well, at least one part of that assertion is total hooey
Jack Abramoff never gave a single red cent to any democrat. Not a penny. Nothing. Nada. Nihil.

It's a sad, cheesy attempt to wrap Democrats into this qunitessentially Repiglican scandal.

To equate his clients' donations with Abramoff himself is to confess one of the greatest conspiracies in the history of the government of the United States.

12. needs to be dissected and clearly shown where the money's for each
came from precisely, i.e., that it was the tribes or some such and NOT ABshit that gave them money. Expose the lies to that "tell all" chart with the sunshine of truth!

19. Why is it so different from the other charts
Someone posted a great chart where you could see who got what from who down to which Indian tribe. These numbers are higher so they must have further expanded the definition to include all Indian tribes.

17. As usual look deeper than the spin
and you will find the truth. In at least one case, according to Randi Rhodes, this is nothing but spin. In the case of Senator Byron Dorgan she reports that the money he received was from an Indian group that were not even clients of Abramoff at the time of the donation. The group apparently became a client sometime after their contribution. Of course for the Repug spinmeisters this is just a needless detail.
