New wire-tapping Poll by IPSOS is NOT HONEST. Contact information here:
The new poll by IPSOS askes the question:

Should the Bush administration be required to get a warrant from a judge before monitoring phone and internet communications between American citizens in the United States and suspected terrorists, or should the government be allowed to monitor such communications without a warrant?

This question does not reflect the truth of the matter....which is that the Bush administration can monitor as described BEFORE GETTING A WARRANT under FISA.
THEY THEN HAVE 72 HOURS TO GO TO THE COURT AFTER THEY'VE BEGUN WIRE TAPPING/MONITORING!!!

In spite of this innaccurate question a majority (52%) said yes.

IPSOS has a responsibility to poll in such a way that accurately reflects the real issue, and in this case they're not. If they spelled out the issue accurately then the numbers of Americans wanting Bush to use the FISA court would be much higher.

1. BushCo controls Ipsos and a host of other polling co.'s
It is getting quite hilariously obvious that some of these pollsters are having to create incredibly idiotic questions to skew the result to Bush. It is as though they no longer care if they reveal themselves to be BushCo beeyotchs.

If Bush "controlled" Ipsos, why wouldn't he instruct them to have a more favorable result to such a question?

All this poll shows is a poorly worded question that still hits home the idea that Americans do not like these wiretaps.

4. Agreed, Bush does not control IPSOS.....BUT...
they did pose the question of wiretaps in about as positive a way for Bush that they could.

And Americans still came out against it. Imagine if the question was truely representative of reality!

Come on. Admit that your question on warrants and wiretapping assumed things
not in evidence, like the average American's awareness of existing law. Ask
it again, like this:

Should the Bush administration be able to monitor or record any communications between American citizens in the United States and anyone the Administration suspects of a connection to terrorism; or as the current law states, be required to get a warrant up to 72 hours after the fact, demonstrating probable cause to a judge that the monitoring was reasonable?

I'd be very interested in those results, which I hope to see soon.

Respectfully,

Me

6. Nice one. Here's mine:
Hello

I find that your poll question is not an accurate representation of the issue.

By asking if the Bush administration should be
"required to get a warrant from a judge before monitoring phone and internet"
you're not reflecting the fact that they would be; under FISA, able to monitor PRIOR to getting a warrant.

They could go to the judge 72 hours AFTER monitoring has begun.

This is a simple fact that is lost on many Americans.

Please, do another poll and try to offer a choice that truthfully reflects the two options: using FISA and not using FISA with an accurate description of what using FISA involves.

thankyou.
