I would like to bring to your attention that it was the United States Supreme Court ruling that "MONEY" = SPEECH. Has anyone out there had any conversations with their pocket change, or paper money recently?
The likes of Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon simply took that perverted Supreme Court ruling to its absolute absurdity. A ruling, I might add, by brightest and the best, Doctors of Jurisprudence. Men of the highest moral standards. Men who got to those positions by politicians not the public.
The Executive Branch can not be lobbied by anyone. The Precedent can't sign a bill that isn't presented to him for his signature. In a Republic THE SENATE HAS ALL THE POWER!
We, the people, have allowed the perversion of the term Democracy. We are not a democracy, never have been" the USA is a Republic. It's in the pledge of allegiance we recited daily in school... "And To The Republic for Which It Stand."
Congress should pass a veto proof law that limits individual lobbyist to lobby only those Senator's and Representative who live in that individuals state. And that they must claim their primary residence in the state from which the intend to lobby: and it must remain their residence for four year term. If they move they loose the right to lobby, in the state to which they moved.
Further that money has nothing to do with speech whatsoever. Any money, goods or services given by a Lobbyist to any legislator or his/her representative is illegal, and upon conviction serve a minimum of 10 year in a MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON in the State of his primary residence, without the possibility of parole or pardon.
