Controversial Conservative Bill Bennett Becoming CNN Political Analyst In '06
bennettdec30.jpgFirst on TVNewser: Controversial conservative talk show host Bill Bennett will become a CNN political analyst early in 2006, TVNewser has learned.

This month's departure of Bob Novak left the network without a high-profile conservative commentator. But Bennett, a former Education Secretary and drug czar, seems to be a strange choice to add a little red to the channel. Of all the conservatives CNN could sign, why Bennett? In September, he came under fire from all sides of the political sphere for his assertion that aborting "every black baby in this country" would reduce the crime rate. Many members of Congress asked Bennett to apologize. The White House condemned his remarks. (Bennett said his comments were mischaracterized.)

Bennett was a Fox News contributor, but his contract has expired. A CNN spokesperson couldn't confirm the signing.

In addition to the "political analyst" role, Bennett is expected to appear on a culture show the network may launch next year. Could CNN be interested in simulcasting part of his Salem radio show, too?

3. Over. The. Top.
Why would CNN place somebody on the air who has been involved in so much controversy? This guy has shown he has racist leanings and that, by his affection for gambling, his "Little Book of Virtues" is hypocritical at best and a cynical scam at the worst.

CNN gets no more viewership from me.

4. If Ted Turner was dead
he'd be spinning around in his grave. CNN hires FAUX reject. It will be a disaster - Bennett is a guy that nobody can warm up to plus he carries more baggage than a 747. It will only be worth watching the first day he appears on wolfie's show just to see paul beluga kiss his ass.

5. XM
What happened to XM broadcasting Bennett's radio show? I used to see it on America Right as I was scrolling down to AAR in the mornings. It's been gone for awhile now.

10. Did FAUX produce the show?
FAUX seems to have distanced themselves from "The Gambler" after his last embarassing "abort all black babies to stop crime" statement. Seems, that as vile as the network is, they "know when to hold em, know when to fold em......"

7. CNN - Pathetic
that station is absolutely useless unless it is breaking coverage of a huge event that needs reporters on the ground.
They need people like Bennett because they aim for the simple and stay there.

9. Why do they keep re-cycling the same old tired Payola Pundits?
Like I would watch. Not.

However, I did catch Keith Olberman last night. I resist cable news, but y'all seem so high on him. So I watched. Very entertaing. Since I miss Stewart, this is a great sub.

12. Buchanan was doing so well there for a while.....
...But he seems to be drinking the Chimp KoolAid lately. Bob Barr seems to be the biggest conservative name opposing monkey boy right now, and I doubt the whore media are going to give him any airtime.
