This ACLU add in the NYT has right-wingers all pissed off
I was just browsing a game forum I haven't for quite some time because of its right-wing demographics. And I ran into a post where they are ape-shit about this add in the NYT from the ACLU..

LOL... Poor babies can't handle their king's feet being held to the fire.

2. Oh, dear, is the ACLU picking on the little dictator again?
You just know that's going to hurt his feelings and make him mad. And the NYT, hoo boy, not only are they printing articles about George putting himself above the law, now they are printing these ads about it.

That only leaves me with one response. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

They should put that on billboards across the country. ...OK... two responses.

7. Because most of the right-wingers still think Milhous did nothing
wrong. They never got over the fact he resigned in disgrace.

These people live in a different dimension. Down is up, white is black.

The truth means nothing to them, it's spin, spin, spin all the time.

10. Remember when...
...Nixon seemed like the most awful, conspiratorial president ever? Sheesh, makes me nostalgic. Along came Reagan and it's been downhill ever since. Great ad, BTW.

Here's an exchange I had with the right-wing poster of that thread moments ago. No futher response from him yet.

Him:

The ACLU has finally taken a firm, anti-Bush stance and made it public. I did a search and didn't find this anywhere here, hard to believe it's not been posted. Is this not absolutely amazing that this "non-partisan" group would be putting out a full page ad in the NYTimes (well, that part makes sense at least) directly accusing the President of lying? Where is their pretense of impariality now?

Me:

Are you saying that the biggest liar of a President didn't lie? Are you saying that this President hasn't undermined the Constitution with oh so many of his actions?

Are you saying that the ACLU doesn't have any evidence to support their accusations?

Wow!! The only thing I can think of is either stockholm syndrome or all hail the king.

Him:

Believe whatever you want, idiot. The ACLU claims to be non-partisan and has in fact finally displayed themselves to be anti-Bush, with no doubt about it. This is a big thing. This thread is not about you, it's not about Bush and it's not about your hatred of same. It's about the ACLU finally declaring open war on the President.

Me:

Why? Because they are holding your little king's feet to the fire?

Where's your proof that they don't have valid evidence to make such a claim? If their claims are totally baseless, how come the White House or any right-wing group isn't filling lawsuits against them?

You guys spent how many millions and how much time trying to dig something up on Clinton? You went after shat that had happened twenty something years in the past of which you got nothing on him for. So then you go after his personal business of getting a BJ.

Now you sit here whining like a baby because a group of people who make it their business to protect our Constitution are doing just that and you call them partisan? How do you explain them fighting for Rush Limpball even after Rush Limpball has trashed them so much in the past? Are they being partisan Matic? huh?

Jesus H'Chist I have never seen such hypocrites. *sigh*

20. These people
who say that the ACLU is "liberal" or "partisan" need to be reminded that ACLU stands for American Civil Liberties Union, and that they stand up for and protect the civil liberties for all of us!Your may want to bring up how the ACLU defended the right of David Duke (KKK) to be on the ballot during the 1992 election.

Several months ago, I saw a bumper sticker (on some big-ass SUV, of course) which said, "ACLU", but the "C" was formed in to a Soviet-style hammer and sickle. These people are idiots!
