Pick your favorite RW MORON moments of 2005 in 3 categories!
O.K. This is a bit of a departure for me, since my usual threads are about either entertainment or something to do with families. In fact, I don't even know if I expect this thread to get any traction because of that. BUT, every dog has to show that he knows a few different tricks once in a while.

One thing that we've learned in the last 5 years is that whenever we think we've seen a year that the current "Confederacy of Dunces" (an involuntary tribute to one of my all time LEAST favorite novels) has reached a depth of idiocy that can't go any lower, they pull it off. Given that, I can't wait for 2006

Here are a few, and only a few, of my favorite conservative moments from 2005. They are the moments I think of, in 3 categories, when I think of the term WHOPPING MORON! The categories are Individual Idiocy, the Circle Jerks (all of the rw chorus singing the same song, at the same time, and spontaneously, too :sarcasm: ), and the MSM, who are a category unto themselves! I can fill pages of all three, but I'll limit myself to just 2 or 3 in each category just so everyone else can get in on the fun!

Individual Idiocy!

1. Harriet Meier's' belief that ** is "the most brilliant man I've ever known"

2. Our glorious leader and "Brownie, You're doin' a heck of a job!"

3. Tom Delay lamenting that his indictment is "Democrat" practice of the politics of personal destruction.

The Circle Jerks!

1. "THEY KILLED TERI!"

2. The War on Christmas

3. "There's a lot of good things going on over there" being said by every right wing radio talking head that goes over to Iraq and swallows Pentagon propaganda in the Green Zone for 10 hours before they hightail it out of there!

MSM

1. Gannongate

2. Recent media shifts from hawking the policies of a president whose popularity is dropping faster than jenna's panties at a frat party to subtle glorification of him personally, such as constantly referring to him as "OUR PRESIDENT" or "OUR COMMANDER-IN CHIEF" when they often referred to Clinton as "Bill Clinton" for identical human interest type stories.

I could go on and on, but what are some of your?

Happy Holidays and SCREW YOU bill o'rieley!:wow:

Of Course, it's also an illustration of what you can get away with when your handlers know that the media will not hold you accountable!

5. This would fall under "THEY KILLED TERI!"
but I have to say that "Dr." Frist being able to diagnose a patient without ever having been in the same room, or even laying eyes on said patient, other than on video tape, is more than enough to enter him into the competition.

"I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office," he said in a lengthy speech in which he quoted medical texts and standards. "She certainly seems to respond to visual stimuli."

An autopsy on Terri Schiavo determined that she was in a persistent vegetative state, with massive and irreversible brain damage, as well as blind.

Bill Frist...GOP Idiot

21. I have 3 M-SM for you, and they're all the product of our friend Tweety
Tweety's words, paraphrased:

1. "The pres'dent has a sort of sunny nobility.."

2. "Well, ev'rybody kind of likes the pres'dent, except maybe for the real wackos on the left..."

3. "If he brings democracy to Iraq, he (Chimp) should be on Mt. Rushmore."

And then there was Tweety's reference to a "towel-snapping moment" with his hero, the Chimp. GAG ME!!!!

22. I'd also like to nominate Mike Brown's "fashion god" e-mails ...
Could we have a separate subheading under "Individual Idiocy" for totally clueless, self-centered comments? Although Bush's New Year's Day hospital visit, where he told seriously-injured soldiers about the scratch he'd received while clearing brush, could well beat out Brown's entry.

30. Neal Horsely (man-mule love) and SCHIAVO
anything Schiavo related. It was amazing to watch the RW spin machine laid open and bare by their own hand. Everyone who cared to got to see how they twist and manipulate an issue right there out in broad daylight. The bad part is that I saw at least two year in review pieces that mentioned how "both sides on that issues...." there were no two sides-there was THEIR side and there was the truth and how everyone knew it would end there was no issue really here at at all just them self flagulating live on camera.
