How will Bush publicly campaign?
I was watching a report on his 2000 campaign and saw a few clips from the campaign trail of Dubya. There were a few big public rallies. They got me curious about how Bush will possibly hold public rallies? The last time he went to another country there were massive protests, I can't imagine what they will be like here at home when he shows up in communities in every state. I expect these fears are a big reason for the huge fundraising effort, so that he can meet people through TV ads, instead of at rallies. I can't imagine being a member of his campaign staff, what a challenge.

2. i think they wear it with pride
and no fear that the lapdog media will make anything of it. when he was here in chicago for a fund raiser a while ago, the attendees leaving looked so smug. and the media, as always, downplayed the number of protesters.

3. They will have him in front of the same
hand selected audiances in controlled venues just like the last three years. There will be no public appearances and the media will report it in a way that most people will not notice.

The Machiavellian in me :)

Limit rallies as you say.

Only have rallies in strongholds.

Only publicize rallies at the last moment, secretly planned and reconnoitered. So protesting forces have little time to organize.

Publicize more rallies than you plan to attend. That way can create low expectations and wow the crowd(like Baghdad) when you DO show up. Splits protesting forces to cover them all lightly and manageable.

Have SO many rallies that protesting forces will AGAIN have to cover them all lightly.

5. He's going to wear a cowboy hat,
and proudly announce that he's keeping America safe. There is NOTHING else that the Rat-publicans can claim after 4 years of such mayhem.

I know because I stumbled on his website by accident. There he was, wearing a cowboy hat, looking noble. We get to see his face in profile, showing an honest, straight shooting politician.

The top banner on the website said "Keeping America Safe". So I'm pretty sure this will be their main slogan. I wonder if anything will happen to shoot their slogan to s***.
