The so-called "Faith-Based Initiative" - is there ANY oversight?
Are we pouring millions if not billions of tax money into these religious charities with any congressional oversight, are there any audits?
WTF is happening, we never hear anything about this program, and I certainly haven't seen anything in this area regarding religious charities taking over from the social services.

1. This might help:
2004 Data Collection
Data was collected on competitive non-formula grant awards in 151 Federally-administered programs at six Federal agencies including the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Education, Justice, Labor, Agriculture, and 17 program areas at the US Agency for International Development. 5. Thanks - it looks like they got 2 billions last year
The stats don't say what the money was spent on, just who got it.
I wonder of Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson got their thieving hands on any of it.

3. None
The books churches keep are off limits to the Feds, which is one reason churches were leery of accepting Fed money. They wanted to keep their books closed.

Lots of churches have accepted Fed money now, knowing this gang of thieves in power will never suggest accountability. It's a quid pro quo arrangement to them for the delivery of a reliable voting bloc.

The only silver lining in this cloud is that this thieving gang won't last forever. As soon as they are out of power, you can bet your ass that any of these little right wing wingnut churches that have had taxpayer money lavished upon them to no apparent benefit of anyone in the community will be audited.
