Cheney shut down airport
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2335257

Monday/Tuesday I did a little ranting about how Cheney shut down the Idaho Falls, Idaho airport Monday night so that he could fly in to go fishing at his compound in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.........an article finally showed up in the Post Register. He wasn't on the plane. The airport was shut down so that his car could be flown in. My dad, the hell or high water Republican, began making phone calls to elected officials. I think Idaho is beginning to show signs of turning on repubs. My family is finally beginning to see that maybe I am not so loony after all.

13. I know it was debunked. That's why I hesitate to believe this one.
Though Cheney is, to me, obviously arrogant(as is the whole Bush admin) whereas Clinton is not. :-)

14. you can believe this one
You can believe this one. While I was waiting 5 hours for my delayed flight, there were so many extra people wandering around....ear pieces.....suits. I was there. Believe it. I was angry enough thinking Cheney himself was on the plane. Vehicles....they shut down the airport for his vehicles. The airport is not that big, so word travels fast. We also saw the plane fly in, hoping it was ours. After it flew in, it was amazing how quickly incoming flights were able to leave Salt Lake and fly to IDA. It was amazing how quickly they were then able to give us the ETA of our incoming flight.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- The big Air Force C-17 Globemaster Tactical Transport plane that's sitting on the tarmac of the Idaho Falls airport this week has drawn more than a few curious stares and questions.

It landed Monday night and airport employees say Secret Service agents unloaded several limousines for Vice President Dick Cheney. The vehicles were driven to Jackson, Wyoming, where the plane was originally scheduled to land and where Cheney has a home. The plane was diverted to Idaho Falls because of foggy conditions at the Jackson airport Monday evening.

Airport employees said the transport aircraft is expected to leave Idaho Falls later this week.

8. Thanks for the article
My sister had just called and told me the news. I was too angry to try and look it up anywhere on-line. It was a very long 5 hours at the airport.

15. well, he does need a car with armor
There's enough real stuff to be outraged about - this probably has a fairly reasonable explanation. Cheney can't just go to Hertz and pick up a nice Towncar, you know.

My mom got stuck in Vegas for a few hours while Bush was flying in one time. She said everyone in the airport was really pissed about that.

17. good for my family
Yes, it is trivial. This is also Idaho. Wasting time & tax payer money are very big issues there. They take it very personally. It starts out as little things, but will become bigger issues if you keep feeding the fire and get others stirred up. I was mad and I want to stir things up. Besides, if you were the one stuck at the airport, you would be screaming as well. The wireless connection at the airport shuts down at about 9:00 pm. Life is simple there. The good thing is that now my family is turning on their beloved Bush & Co. That is a miracle in itself.
