this is a silly question, but is it legal for my company (non-profit) to not pay me tomorrow, even if I have sick and vacation time due to the transit strike. I live in the Bronx and the only real way to get into NYC is mass transit. If a strike happens, can my company legally do this?

There should be some provision listed there. If not, check new york's state rules.

Just an fyi, its been my experience, even if its not legal, sometimes its just not worth upsetting the apple cart, especially if you want to go into the office tomorrow and the next day, etc. Depending on the organization, some will make accommodations for its employees when events beyond their control occur.
