Here ya go! Proof that unchecked spying is perfectly legal!

Here are the specific words that Gonzales said justify wiretapping in the U.S. without a warrant,
even though a special court was set up to specifically issue secret warrants in these cases.

(a) IN GENERAL- That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.

so what could be clearer than that?
And that's it. That's the whole justification.

Obviously it gives the president carte blanche to disregard any laws he considers inconvenient.

1. Perfect example..
Of why the PA must be scrapped. Any Dem that votes to pass it is cutting his own throat.

2. As Reed pointed out
Then I guess we have no need for the Patriot Act if this is the case.

3. Key: "authorized against [who] HE determines committed attacks"
That is the most open-ended law ever and to think that the President is given full discretion to decide who committed what....!!!

6. Circular argument
How the F*ck does he get to the point where he knows the person is a problem? Where does that f*cking info come from?

7. This is why he says that the PA can't be suspended, "even for one
moment" - as soon as it is, everything they did and are doing becomes illegal again, and there is a slam-dunk case for impeachment.

He's just using it all to cover his own ass.
