Because we will hear a lot of it in the next several months, probably right up to the 2006 election? The Republicans will stonewall this issue. Arlen Specter says he wants to investigate after the first of the year, but I seriously doubt that it will go very far, simply because the rest of his Party will shun him. They do not wish for this issue to be in the public before the next election. So, the debate will go on and on until next November, and if Democrats win the House, this will be the issue that they will investigate. That would be my scenario for the next year...

This is exactly what Nixon did, and when a few key members of Congress realized they were targets, the party was over. They knew they could prove Watergate, so that's what they ran with.
