Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'
Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'

clip...
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”

Just thought this needed re-posting right now.

1. There's enough REAL things to bash Chimpy about
You really don't need a fake quote Doug Thompson pulled out of his ass....

5. Please explain.
I really don't know why there's push-back against this site. This is part of their FAQ:

"Should we believe what you print simply because you say it is so?

Absolutely not. You should read many publications and draw your own conclusions. We insist that every story published on Blue have at least two independent, verifiable sources for any and all of the information in that story. We have a good track record but, as with any product produced by human beings, we can -- and do -- make mistakes. But when we are wrong, we admit it. Thankfully, we seldom have to.

Our publisher has a motto that hangs over his rickety, old, roll-top desk: If your mother says she loves you, get a second source."

7. Basically, Thompson and his site are pretty much worthless....
"We insist that every story published on Blue have at least two independent, verifiable sources"
Funny that he never has ANY then.

So who ARE the TWO independent verifiable sources in THAT story? You can see that he stuck two actual quotes by Gonzalez and Sclaia down at the bottom...but they don't back up his story.

3. I Believe He Said It
and I know he meant it, whether he said it or not. See, he's read through that whole piece of paper, and it doesn't say one thing about him being authorized by anyone to do what he's been doing. Instead of rewriting the Constitution, he is willing to just tear it up and wing it.

Well, he's the one getting winged, now.

9. We've already had a topic about this

It would be great to use this against him, but a glorified blog/news website really doesn't carry much credibility.
