How many times did Shrub (re)authorize domestic spying?
I seem to recall * admitting that he issued the first order to grossly violate Americans' 4th Amendment rights, then reauthorized it a number of times. I don't recall the number of times he mentioned on national TV, but 34 sticks in my mind. Does anyone recall the correct number?

Oh, and can the voluntary admission on national TV of committing a crime be used in court? Would * be accountable for just the authorizations, or for each and every violation of civil rights conducted by the authorizations?

Thanks in advance!

2. I *think* he said it was more than 30
so 34 could be correct.

and I believe it is not a crime to lie to the American public. However, once impeachment proceedings begin, that would surely be held against him.

3. He admitted to more than 30 times.
As to admitting something on TV...of course it can be used in court. That's why EVERY attorney tells their client to keep his mouth shut, and NEVER talk to the Press. Of course, Shrub isn't under investigation....yet.

4. I think I heard
that it had to be renewed every 45 days? I have been gone a lot the last few days so my knowledge of this entire situation is pretty new and raw but I do think I heard that over the weekend.

6. We should demand to know who was spied upon.
Bush has lied about so many things. As a result, we can't take his claim that he only spied on people with ties to Al Qaeda as true on its face. Let's remember that Bush was spying on people in violation of the Constitution throughout the 2004 campaign. If Nixon's goons could break into Democratic Headquarters, whose to say Bush didn't spy on Democrats or other groups opposing him during the election. National security, my eye. We have no reason to believe that all of the spying was related to terrorism. I want to see the names. What good is it to defeat terrorism if we lose our Constitutional rights? If we lose our Constitutional rights, we have lost our whole country. The Bush administration needs to come clean on this. At the very least, they should name the names of those they spied on to Democrats in Congress.
