Why have a Congress then?
There are rumblings that a hearing, into Bush's spying on Americans, would comprimise National security.
Excuse me.
You mean to tell me there is no way that a select, bi-partisan committee, couldn't have a hearing and keep the sensitive security issues private while covering the rest in public?

WTF do we have a Congress for then?
Where is there any oversight of the Executive Branch?

1. Indeed, BushCo bypass Congress whenever possible
They only go to our elected representatives when they want a rubber-stamp approval for their nefarious legislation.

WAKE UP, CONGRESSPEOPLE! Don't allow this criminal administration to runroughsod over all of our rights... save a few for us, please!

4. Congress administers the distribution of war profits.
That and running divisive culture-war distractions are their sole remaining functions, as far as I can tell.

6. To unite behind the leadership of the President.
Same function that powerless legislatures play in all dictatorships and totalitarian nations.

These republicans long ago ceased to be anything except lieutenants in the White House army. They are dirt.
