4. My sentiments, too.
I am way more afraid of this adm. than I am of terrorists. Not that I condone terrorism - I don't. I think its awful.

But we are in serious trouble here - our civil liberties are going right down the tube and no one seems to even be watching.

9. I have a greater chance of marriage
here in central NM than I do of being affected by a terror attack, and I'm an old lady whose looks are long gone.

However, I am affected every day by the stupid economic policies of both parties over the last 37 years and not for the better. I am in terror of getting sick, since I've been shut out of health insurance for the past 18 years.

The terror attacks that affect me are entirely homegrown and officially sanctioned.

34. Me too, Warpy... old women with no looks left are smarter
and more in tune with what's really going on in the world than anyone else alive, imho. There is nothing to detract them from what really matters; they are harder to fool; not easily schmoozed; there is nothing to detract the rest of us from REAL BEAUTY, which is all on the inside anyway and the only thing that really lasts.

10. Amen!
The chances of the average American being 'harmed' by this Administration far outweigh the chances of being harmed by a terrorist.

Terrorists have not caused American jobs to be outsourced, have not caused Americans to lose their health insurance, have not caused tax breaks to the wealthy and the gutting of social programs aimed at assisting the poor, have not caused expanding corporate profits at the expense of the working class.

This Administration caused, directly through their policies, all of the above -- and more.

2. Sometimes
I'm a little afraid of something happening, but it's not like I live every day thinking about it and freaking out. I'm just as afraid of what the idiots in the White House might do as I am of anything else.

3. Which ones?
The real ones, or the domestic groups that * is convinced are terrorists?

I'm not afraid of the former, and am probably on a list as the latter.

So, no.

5. Hell no!
That would be really stupid. Other factors are far more likely to bring about my demise.

I do wish we would make genuine efforts to improve our security though, and get rid of all the fascist crappola that chimpy swears is making us safer.

6. Nope. I live in NYC,
we are always being terrorized by something. I do believe though that because of the disdain many of our former allies feel for the US, and the disdain many of our enemies feel for us that we are definitely on track to become the target of unprecedented attack. Not necessarily this moment, but within my lifetime (I am 27). I don't feel this will necessarily be directed at NY alone.

Of course not. Although, there was a "terrorist" arrested for planning to bomb a nearby mall. (Turned out to be a mentally ill man without any knowledge of bomb-making who happened to be of middle eastern decent.)

14. I'm sure that there will be other terrorist attacks in the U.S., but I
do not live in fear of them. Just like I know that someday another tornado will hit the city in which I live, but I do not crouch in fear of every storm that happens. Take what precautions you can and fate will take care of the rest. If you live in constant fear, you don't have much of a life at all.

there are so many other things worth worrying about, things that you can actually DO something about, like, say, eating better....

20. NO
I am more afraid of not having health care and living in a country that doesn't care about low income people.

I live in fear daily that if my ability to hustle (work more than one job) a $ in America goes away, I'm screwed.

No, I must say that terrorist attacks is pretty low on my list of things to worry about.

21. It's pure brainwash...
It maybe trite, but I think one's fear of terrorism is in direct relationship to how much TV you watch.

Quite a few Americans are taught to be in mortal fear of other Americans through their Media and the only tools at their disposal to fight off other economic competitors is the ballot box.

These feelings of powerlessness and despair, which give rise to fear, is only exploited by the dizzingly huge number of crime-related programs currently on television, that produce one full hour of tough solutions to alleviate fear.

24. No...I fear my kids are going to get kidnapped or get some cootie
disease, but I don't fear terrorists. To me, terrorists are like tornados. It might happen to you and it would suck, so you prepare the best you can and go on with your life. If I lived in a terrorist prone area (highly populated, etc) I would do the same thing I would do if I lived in a tornado prone area (like Oklahoma). I would get as prepared as I could and then, essentially forget it.

32. No--
no more than I fear earthquakes, lightning, hurricanes, ice storms, auto wrecks, robbery, serious illness, etc.

For chrissake, what good is it to always be obsessed with what "can" happen? Prepare, and then fuggedaboudit. Anything else is NEUROSIS.

To see what chickenhearted fear of "terrorism" can do to a person, check out the long-running "Terror Matrix" at freerepublic.com. This is a set of threads they have with literally thousands of posts. It continues, day in and day out, ever since 9/11. The people who regularly fill up these threads eagerly seize upon every plane crash, plane almost-crash, tanker wreck, ice storm, chemical spill, murder, etc., and tie it in to "terrorism."

It's hilarious to read the comments. Everything, and I mean everything, is suspicious. It's like the paranoid schizophrenic wing of the acute ward at a mental hospital. "Just because we're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get us!!!!"
