44 House Dems voted today to pass the Tyranny Act (Patriot Act)
I have been trying to find out which Dems supported this nightmare, and all I could find was this on the house web site: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2005/roll627.xml

I see my representative voted NO... so lucky for him.

The rest will surely feel my wrath.

1. this is one of the reasons I have stopped donating to the DNC
since the 2004 loss.

I only donate to individual candidates

4. He was probably just absent
for some unrelated reason. He doesn't seem like the type who would avoid a vote simply because it's controversial.

15. i know.. ..just seems wierd to me...
i don't know him too well, but wasn't he in Michael Moore's Faranheit 9/11 film discussing the vote on the war and the patriot act?

Isn't he from the state of Washington?

i might be misrembering, it's hard to keep track of over 435 Congress members, but for some reason it strikes me as odd - i thought i associated McDermott as principled on issues of civil liberties and such.

The Dems around here won't put anyone else against
him. We don't need Blue Dogs anymore.

21. Unfortunately we do,
I'm surrounded by Burbank republicans, you know the ones that go 25 in a 45 zone. My wife of 33 years has become one of them. There all made from the same mold.

16. Like it or not,
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 09:22 PM by mmonk
the propaganda about the democrats being divided has truth in it. Of course there is some division in the repuke camp as well. But there are democrats who like the security state and the neocon agenda. And I stand against them as well as the repukes and the neocons, their label doesn't matter when it comes to the constitution of the US and the behaviour of my country.

17. Rob Andrews (NJ) voted YEA - voted to limit bankruptcy as well... :-(
I'm beginning to wonder who he thinks he representing? Do you really think you're doing us a favor in South Jersey by allowing the FBI to search our houses and keep it a secret from us?

Do you really think voting the way you're voting gets you any cred with the 'Pugs here in South Jersey?

Are the Republicans throwing any government money our way here in Gloucester County for your votes? I'm asking because I'm not seeing it while all the billions are pouring into the red states...

Rob, you've personally answered my letter re: bankruptcy bill and I respect that (while I still disagree - where's the lower interest rates, Rob?), but your voting is making me wish someone truly liberal will run against you in the next primary so you can find your Democratic backbone!
