Term limits for congress
Reading all political stuff I can, I have come to the conclusion recently that we need term limits on congress..
There area few decent-long term senators in congress as well as reps---but most have overstayed their time----Im from the Washington area originally so somewhat familiar with politics there.

When we have guys who are celebrating 50 years in congress---cant remember who,and there are others who made careers of Washington---jesse helms--strong thermond,( it got so bad with him they had to prop the bigot up for a vote)---it seems to me that they loose touch with reality----I know, living withing the beltway, one looses reality fast-- being its SUV and HUMMER land or life in the fast lane----Making a trip back home to visit your constituents, dosent get it anymore---

Another thing that pisses me off---one cant make his mark in politics unless he was a war hero McCain, rich, or a celebrity-----this is becoming such bullshit-------the average citizen can look forward to Walmart----

One thing, I cant fathom---we put term limits on a president----and as a result one the the best we ever had cant run again----(Clinton-he had his faults). so as a result we instill a air- head instead------

Probably Washington's problems would be solved somewhat if we made it a rule that these professional politician's could not make washington a perminate home----------we need fresh blood instead of rehashed dried out ideas----

This country was started with fresh thinkers but the times they are a changing---Dylan

5. I'd prefer we try to make elections mean something again.
That way, we could get rid of the bad ones. There are a few good ones that we need to keep.

4. Hell, in Common Sense
Thomas Paine spoke of term limits for law makers. Said that they should be forced to live under the laws they pass. Those Founding Fathers, so idealistic then, so wildly spinning now.
