Barbara Bush pissed off at Cheney?
http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/001129.html

Barbara Bush is allegedly TICKED off at Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Andy Card, nearly all of them -- except Karen Hughes -- for how her boy is faring in the hearts and minds of Americans.

The matriarch of the Bush clan is colder than North Pole ice right now to those around her son who she thinks have undermined him. I'll tell who my sources are if Patrick Fitzgerald gives a call and makes me -- but the sources are very close to Poppa Bush (41), who has been traveling a bit with some of his old entourage, including Brent Scowcroft and others of the first Bush regime.

While TWN has been able to confirm that Laura Bush's mother-in-law wants to do more than put coal in the stockings of the Vice President and the other top handlers of her son's White House, we have not been able to confirm a slightly stronger bit of the rumor, which is that Barbara -- not Laura -- was planning to call on Nancy Reagan just to get a refresher lesson on how she took on and kicked out then Chief-of-Staff Donald Regan. (I embellish here; Barbara Bush is not going to take lessons from Nancy, it just sounded good. My source told me that Barbara was about to "pull a Nancy Reagan" on these attendants.)

15. Snark
YEs, none of it's his fault! Just like when he blew up frogs, and barely made it through high school, and sponsored his girlfriend's abortion, and deserted his TANG post, and ran his oil company into the ground after cashing out his shares, and got arrested 5 times.

of the usual Bush strategy, the old, bought off cold-shit bag, trying to protect & support Jr., (no matter what the lie), she'll say what's ever put in front of her, FACT: While Rove is trying to smile....He too has big problems.

Her Georgie is in deep shit, and rightfully so...and its NOT just going away!

One "reaps what one sows"...a hard lesson indeed...old and corny, but oh so true...

11. I'm so sick of the Bush Family
And I still remember the odious, ice cold "patrician" disconnect/disdain the elder Mrs. Bush evidenced about the Katrina victims who were evacuated to her "home state" Texas. And everytime I hear her SOB son talking in that ridiculously affected Texas twang, like he's just a downhome, good ol' boy, I want to puke.

29. That's because nobody really does it
Not only do they not brag about clearing brush, they don't really do it, do they? Some will burn brush, but trying to clear it is not realistic. Like everything else about the phony, clearing brush is what he thinks real Texans do.

16. They certainly are the worst political family in the history of the US.
Certainly they are no Adams family, although a case can made for them being a much less affable and more creepy Addams family.

Even the Kennedy's were less self-serving than this band of thugs.

From George W to Prescott, to Barbara, to George H, to Jeb, to Neil, to Noelle, to John...this family is a disgrace to our country's honor. How they got into the positions they have obtained will be a subject of complete amazement for historians of the decline of the United States for many centuries - should humanity survive.

Oh why not? It's fun. I do it myself. (yes see if you CARE about your kids you feel guilty and do blame yourself not just everyone else) But see Babs doesn't blame herself for nuthin I bet.
It's all those other dreadful people that make her boy look bad!I'm sure she's told him he's right and never wrong his whole life. And look what we have- mum is still trying to blame everyone else but herself (natch) for her crap mothering and the boy for his feckless soul.

26. Mommy dearest - some memories:

So George, how do you feel about your mom and dad?

Psychologist Oliver James analyses the behaviour of the American president
http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1033904,00.html

She was the main authority-figure in the home. Jeb describes it as having been, "A kind of matriarchy... when we were growing up, dad wasn't at home. Mom was the one to hand out the goodies and the discipline." A childhood friend recalls that,"She was the one who instilled fear", while Bush put it like this: "Every mother has her own style. Mine was a little like an army drill sergeant's... my mother's always been a very outspoken person who vents very well - she'll just let rip if she's got something on her mind." According to his uncle, the "letting rip" often included slaps and hits. Countless studies show that boys with such mothers are at much higher risk of becoming wild, alcoholic or antisocial.

On top of that, Barbara added substantially to the pressure from his father to be a high achiever by creating a highly competitive family culture. All the children's games, be they tiddlywinks or baseball, were intensely competitive - an actual "family league table" was kept of performance in various pursuits.

28. bush knew!
Bush knew that 11 soldiers were killed in Iraq before he went into the rose garden to give some good news on the economy Friday morning. As you will recall he did not mention it. 26 minutes later after his speech the news broke to the press. McCellan said bush knew before he gave the speech....
