Poll question: Lieberman or McCain?
Not anything specific, not asking which would get your vote for president, just who do you prefer? Between the two, who gets a higher approval rating in your opinion? (Sorry, "none-of-the-above" is not an option!)

1. Sorry, neither...
... both are deficient human beings who don't give a shit about the people of this country.

That's what counts to me--does a candidate care about the people. Both of these candidates are whores to corps. They are anathema to me. I care about neither, and would vote for neither.

I wouldn't waste my time voting for either of them.

7. If I were voting at the polls, absolutely
I'd stay home on election day--in fact, I'd probably be packing my belongings for an extended trip to Canada. But just on the merits of which is the lesser of two evils--I'm even having trouble answering that one right now.

3. I would prefer none. but if I have to choose, I choose the one who has
a record in other issues like civil rights, choice, ... rather than the one who supports the other side of the road, given that they both support the Bush foreign policy.

4. I'd Fill Up a Barf Bag or 2 ...
...and pick Lieberman!

The ultimate reason is that I believe that he at least has the courage of his convictions. Seeing mccain ass kiss ** knowing what the bushies did to him and how the bushies feel about him and how he feels about them is WAY too much for me! mccain is out for mccain. The remarkable thing is that he doesn't seem aware that everybody who gets in bed with the bush family gets shafted majorly (except the saudis, of course!).

5. Wow. Your username should be Hobson :)
Lieberman might be more trustworthy, if you apply the "you may not agree with me but you know where I stand" measure. McCain seems to get the intuitive edge, because of his maverick image, but he's shown himself to be too calculating too often. Ultimately not trustworthy, I think, no matter what we hope he really is like on the inside. I gotta go with Lieberman, who is reliably Democratic in, at least, some issues (I'm told).

I'm thinking of those creepy pictures of each of them, with Bush. Lieberman got kissed, true, but McCain HUGGED BACK.

9. Ugh. Joementum by a whisker.
I'll take an unreliable Democrat before John McCain.
McCain is a true Repug when it really counts.

The more important issue is separating the Republicans from power.
Any Democrat, even a DINO, in the White House is an improvement.

Now you say you would pick none of the above. With politics the state it's in today, hard choices are going to have to be made. You'd sit out an election? What good would that do?

38. Good point, DemIt All.
As I originally stated, this wasn't about any election, just a general "who do you hate the least" question. But it looks like a lot of us were asking that question in the context of a voting booth, and in that context I really couldn't cast my vote for either of them.

However, you're right, and I should still exercise my right to vote. So I'll probably go vote for a third party or other independent candidate--THEN go home and pack my bags for Canada!!!

(Just kidding, anyway--couldn't afford the trip, let alone the relocation--so I guess you're stuck with me!)

15. Lieberman is not a Democrat.
He is a Republican mole in the Democratic Party. McCain is too easily led by the Republican pressures put upon him. No matter what Bush does he remains silent and for someone who knows the horrors of war, he just can not speak out against this debacle in Iraq.

McCain is pure Rethug and Bush's Ho to boot. McCain has a nearly pure RW voting record, and is a hypocrite Ho for his Bush-hugging, and for his campaigning in CA with Arnold SchwarzeRENEGER who amassed huge amounts of corporate money to promote his ill-founded propositions. So much for campaign finance reform. PTUI !!! When are Dems. going to figure out that McHo is no friend of anything Dem?

McCain, compared to a lot of repubs, is quite moderate. But that's about like saying hippos fly faster than elephants because they don't weigh as much.

I'd take any DINO over any kind of repub; at least they would vote my way some of the time. Still a tough pill to swallow.

Perhaps if this actually WERE a voting question in some hypothetical election, it would be helpful to put up such stats without their names, and ask everyone to choose "Candidate-A" and "Candidate-B." Looks like a no-brainer to me.
