This from a guy in a dress
Oh, the last paragraph especially has me laughing hysterically.

That these Princesses of the Church come up with these timetables and rules and they haven't quite noticed that they're all playing dressup in outfits that would make the Ice Capades look positively Marine Corps.

They really are shameless.

1. Convicted pedophiles however are allowed free roam at the Vatican.
Edited on Tue Nov-22-05 04:30 PM by Al-CIAda
..and still allowed the 'dignity' of their title 'priest'.

I swear, there was a mass acid-dropping in the Vatican on this one......

Don't be afraid.

I'll send The Pussycat along to keep you safe, OK?

1. delusional;
2. a closeted homosexual virgin;
3. surrounded by men just like you;
4. a closeted homosexual virgin;
5. power-hungry, because of your very real impotence;
6. afraid of women;
7. a closeted homosexual virgin;

9. afraid of the real world.

Next question?

6. They need to make up their minds.
Is it "intrinsic disorder," or is it "moral phenomenon?" Because if it's "intrinsic," it can't be "moral."

12. . . . especially if "the disordered" is yourself.
My very favorite relative was raped by a priest, as a child and over time in a third world country.

Not too many weeks ago, I went to his daughter's wedding in a large and ornately beautiful church in my town.

The service just about made my head explode. There was much lighting of candles and kneeling and ACTUAL CHAINS wrapped around the wedding couple.

I used to think that the Catholic Church's redeeming quality was all the art it sponsored.

Haven't been able to hold that thought any more.

20. I almost said "Jesus" when I read this,
but, you know, Jesus wouldn't get with any of this stuff.

How did you survive all that? What's with the chains bullshit?

The Church seems to have gone really nuts since I left it over 40 years ago.

Yes, once it was good for art. Not any more.

23. Traumatic bonding? I dunno.
Re the wedding: "Chain chain chain, chain of fooooooooools."

It seems that in my sometime faith, you can't have a good thing without some co-equal and balancing bad thing to keep you in line.

Having lost the monopoly on art, what the HELL is keeping this going?

In a lot of 3rd world countries, the only ed or food or justice you can get is through this church. You gotta give them that.

Part of me grieves for the ideals that have had to be peeled from outta my fist. And another part thinks, shit, what TOOK you so long?

It's really simple. These hypocritical bigots merit the O'Reilly response. And, I hope this statement doesn't get your thread booted to the basement, but it's true.

as if you were a visiting alien from a judgmental planet with nukes."

Unless you read what they say about that Jesus guy.

15. You mean this one?
Hypocrisy

Luke 6:41-42 41And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 42Or how can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye.
