Governor Mark Warner - CSPAN - Tonight
6:30 PM on C-SPAN's "Road to the White House 2008"

This Sunday night Road to the White House includes remarks
by Gov. Mark Warner (D-VA) in New Hampshire at a luncheon hosted by the New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus. The event takes place at the Puritan Conference Center in Manchester. Gov. Warner has not announced he's running for president. New Hampshire is expected to hold the nation's first presidential primary in 2008.

4. I have a friend in Manchester, NH and he said Warner went over
very, very well. One Democratic big wig was quoted as saying, "He's our guy."

8. LOL! I know that General Clark will 100% love him to pieces...
Warner reminds me a lot of the general. Very real, smart and down to earth.

Hopefully I can watch.

but just fyi... you do realize Kerry has had a PAC for a while now, called "Keeping America's Promise"? I'm glad to see Warner is using a different slogan for his PAC than the image in your sig. "Renewing the American Promise" is a little too close to Kerry's thing, IMHO.

3. Governor Warner's slogan is "Foward Together"...
I'll bet anything that the sentence on that bumper sticker was just something created by the DraftMarkWarner group.

5. Correct. I pulled the pic in my sig from the Warner yahoo group.
No relation to Governor Warners actual PAC/campaign.

7. Love him!!! He's got a great personality. He gives a sense of..
"knowing who he is" sans the spin. He exudes competence. This could be "the guy" folks.

10. My thoughts....
Edited on Sun Nov-20-05 08:27 PM by nickshepDEM
*His speech was great. I was actually suprised at how well he delivered the speech.

*He also has a witty side that I never really knew about.

*He made some good points on Iraq and our foreign policy in general, but he's not polished enough when it comes to Q & A's on this matter.

*His past vs future analogy really hit's home.

*Conclusion: He's the real deal folks. A southern populist w/ a hint of businessman. His bipartisan approach and proven record to get things done is exactly what voters will be looking for after 4 more years of Dubya. If he can brush up on foreign relations he could go very, very far.

11. His witty side was also self effacing
which as we know can go a long way with voters. He came across as natural and strong, without much trumped up ego. And a great sense of humor.

15. Warner is the most potent candidate the Democrats can field.
If he runs against a right-winger, he could get 55%+ in 2008.

17. Let's not start that potency stuff again
Oh sorry, I thought you were referring to him as looking like an adult movie actor. I guess that was last week's theme by somebody else.

18. I saw him on C-Span, now there is a Democrat that
could win the Red states. We don't need another candidate that can only win the usual Blue states and pin the whole election on carrying either Ohio or Florida.
