My LTTE re: Murtha....
Don't "Swiftboat" Murtha

Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania had it exactly right. This Iraq war plan is "wrapped in illusion."
Murtha's normally hawkish stance on matters of national security really makes his statements echo. We've done everything we can in Iraq and our continued presence there is creating and enflaming the violence.
Regardless of your feelings on how we got into this quagmire, we all can agree that we want our brave men and women home safe. Rep. Murtha, despite the rantings of the Republican lawmakers, understands this feeling better than anybody. But, the personal attacks continue.
Republicans are now calling into question Rep. Murtha's military experience, calling him a coward on the House floor, questioning his "backbone" and beginning a retaliatory investigation into supposed "lobbying violations." It just goes to show the depth in which Republicans will sink to defend a miserably failed policy over the lives of our soldiers.
