and burn it to CD and give to others to watch. The video quality isn't the greatest but it'll do. Actually I downloaded it some time back and to my embarassment I can't figure out how to find a downloadable set of files now. I still have it on my HD and can burn it but I can't find the downloadable version at the link you have in your post. It links to the BBC but I don't see a way to watch it from there - maybe I'm just not seeing it.

16. I haven't seen it since it aired

but from memory there was a lot of incidental music and film clips which would require a lot of time and money to clear their release for DVD. I know that's held up other stuff in the past (& is currently stopping Jon Ronson's fantastic "Secret Rulers of the World" from getting released.)

18. Because...

Adam Curtis uses so much stock footage he would be in the red for years paying royalties.

That's why you can't buy his highly acclaimed 'Century of the Self' either.

Stock footage from CNN, etc. is insanely expensive. His films are 75% stock footage with brilliant narrative on top.

This past summer he put together a feature-length version of the series and took it on the road to indie-film festivals. Rave reviews of course. It played in NY and LA, maybe other cities in the US.

It has been broadcast once on CBC television in Canada, maybe twice.

BBC and CBC, both gov'ment owned broadcasters, so they have some sort of exemption on broadcasting stuff on a non-profit basis.
