What does "Total Victory" over terrorism look like?
(I've copied my post and some others from last night because I think this needs to be repeated and SEEN. I am sick of news reporters using the words "war on terror". They should be above the false propaganda of the Bush Administration)

Over and over Bush and Cheney and other Repubs say: "stay the course" and that they want "total victory. Bill Frist used the "Total Victory" slogan just yesterday.

Well, Where does that course end? How does one know when one has won the war on terrorism?

"Tell me what VICTORY OVER TERRORISM LOOK LIKE SO I CAN RECOGNIZE IT WHEN IT COMES"?

It is such a bunch of political blather and I am disgusted that no one calls them on it, especially the news organizations and our elected representatives. A monkey would realize that these are fake statements that they have no answer and DESERVE no answer because they are propaganda lies. Why can't our government, our news organizations, and our Democratic leaders realize this? And if they do why do they insist on using this type of terminology?

It is like every news person and Democratic leader agreeing that we need to get rid of those "people in the attic" because they are putting little chips in our heads and reading our minds. It is asinine and they need to start referring to it as asinine and find another way to explain the quagmire that is Iraq.

There are terrorists all over the world, including right here in the good old US of A. How can they say they are fighting terrorists "over there" so we don't have to "fight them here" when they ARE HERE?

I want George Bush and his followers to answer these questions. And I want them to explain how our soldier fighting in Iraq are "allowing us to live in freedom here".

Here are some quotes from the thread last night:

"Terror is a tactic and NOT an army. It only takes one person with a bomb strapped to him for terror to survive. How do you wipe out every single terrorist in the world...YOU DON'T!"(Steely_Dan)

"terrorism is the weapon of the weak; it is the preferred weapon of those without much to lose.

The best way to eradicate terror is to give folks something to lose besides their lives."(PDJane)

3. More importantly
What the hell does "victory in Iraq" have to do with victory over terrorism anyway? If Iraq became a sea of tranquility tomorrow, does that mean we've won the "war on terror"? Anybody who believes that has been MISLED.

5. NU-CUE-LER Winter.
The Rapture, the second coming, Armageddon, all that stuff. That's the *only* victory these lunatics want. Death to everybody so that they can have their precious rapture.

Our country has been taken over by a extremist suicidal religious cult.

6. There will never be total victory over terrorism
Terrorism is a TACTIC that's been used by different groups and individuals for as long as there have been humans on the planet. What the administration is advocating is endless war ... which works well for them because it keeps everybody afraid and keeps money in the profiteers' pockets.

7. It looks like that little fundraising graphic currently at the top of DU.
You know--the one that shows Bush moving from the left all the way to the helicopter waiting to take him out of the White House forever.

Because when we've gotten rid of the Number One Terrorist, we will have Total Victory Over Terrorism.

9. Bush: "I don't think we can win the war on terror"; August 29, 2004
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 04:01 PM by Clarkie1
"I don’t think you can win . But I think you can create conditions so that the — those who use terror as a tool are — less acceptable in parts of the world."

-- George W. Bush, Aug. 29th, 2004

The words "total victory" in regards to the war on terror are meaningless. It is nothing but political propaganda to justify his flawed Iraq policy by couching Iraq in terms of a winnable war on terror.

It's pure bullshit, by his own prior admission.
