Next October Republicans will be criticizing Democrats

for not being more forceful with Rep Murtha's resolution in November 2005. The democrats will be faulted for not seeing to it that Murtha's "well thought out and reasoned" resolution wasn't passed leading to our kids coming home. Republicans will do this on the eve of losing the House and the Senate as the death toll continues to mount and the electorate looks with steely eyes at members of the party responsible.

Please republicans take note. We're eight steps ahead of you.

1. I think you're right

For so long up has been down and wrong has been right, but it appears their dishonesty isn't working any more. As long as the Dems all stood together, which they pretty much did, it'll be hard to muddy the issue as "he/she voted for it before he/she voted against it."

Plus, I think anyone who's still chanting "stay the course" will be dead in the water as far as getting elected, so those bozos will have a mixed record on troop withdrawal, too.

2. Sometimes we must spend a moment or two

in bizarro universe to figure them out. In a few months I can envision Rep Murtha being labeled a vicious war mongering baby killer because he didn't work hard enough for his resolution. And that "logic" will be parroted by the patriots at free republic. And, of course, the lovely and talented ms schmidt was taken out of context.
