DU is a mess - let's clean up our act!! OK ???
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 08:46 AM by welshTerrier2
8 threads on the first page of GDP about Schmidt ... 8 of 'em !!!!!

what a total waste of time ... how about discussing the points Murtha raised instead of wasting time on garbage like that ...

DU is becoming a gossip rag instead of a forum for real discussion ...

we can, should, and better do better !!

1. Spontaneous discussion is not always tidy. These threads

are not going away any time soon and one can easily reread them and remark, check out links or move on. The crap threads usually fall off anyway.

6. I think this is bound to happen
There was such a startlng upsurge of vitriol and hate, I could not
believe it, I think it is anger over having this individual in Congress when the election was obiviously so bogus. And everyone
knows that her opponent who actually fought in Iraq would not be
spouting such cheap remarks. I think the Republican stonewalling
on election fraud is going to come back and bite them bigtime. I myself have not forgotten my voting machine defaulting 5 times to
George Walker Bush in November 2004, in Baltimore, MD.

7. It takes away from work time to scroll through pages with dupe threads and
takes even longer for those of us on dial-up to wait for each page to load.

It would be nice if people tried to reduce the number of threads on a given topic.

It can take me an hour to catch up on 8-12 hours of DU. First I have to read each new page and choose/open which articles to read. This results in far too many windows. Then I have to hope that I have picked the best thread/threads on a given subject if there are multiples.

It also means that on a very busy day/night that I may not get to read all the thread titles if there are lots of duplicates and they have scrolled the earlier threads off the 20 pages allocated. Some of us are not able to be at our computers 24/7.

It's not so much the gossip, but the multiple threads that are an issue with me.

Thanks to those that post in already open threads.

9. DU needs a Mezzanine
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 01:35 PM by omega minimo
above the Lounge but below the top-floor GD and GDP forums for all the folks who like:

-Crude dense expressions and Fuck Yeah! threads

-One-line OP's that don't say much but start Fuck Yeah! threads

-Ham-fisted who cry about "censorship" and "nanny state" and are snotty about this current OP

-Those who want to mouth off about the issues (call Schmidt a "bitch" and worse) without saying or knowing or learning much of anything....

-Freepaholics

-Bullies
