Randi just said. 6 repugs voted to get out! It did not pass, but SO CLOSE there is no way this war is going to continue. It is finished, get packing.

2. Looks like the stunt may backfire on the GOP...
Wonder if the Freedom Frie guy voted in favor - believe his name is Hall.

3. No, that wasn't it.
They voted no on the rule allowing the resolution to go through today. It will be voted on today anyway - yeas got it.

The resolution is NOT Murtha's - it was reworded and signed by repug Hunter. It is a fraud, and all Democrats should vote NO against this pathetic stunt.

4. I thought it was just the vote to bring it to the floor
Ron Paul is the only rethug I'd guess would vote for the actual resolution.

5. O, that wasn't a vote to pull out! That was a vote to vote on
the resolution to pull out could be voted on the same day it was introduced on the House floor.

They will vote on the actual resolution in a short time.

7. No, that is wrong on her part.

That's not how I understood the vote on the amendment. It was a vote to vote on Duncan Hunter's bullshit amendment. Randi doesn't know what she's talking about.

8. Randi did not get it right - it was a vote to bring the Hunter's bill to a
vote.

The GOP was very successful with their PR if people like Randi did not see the stunt.

9. 'splain, please
211 voted for pullout? Or was this the vote on the procedural question of whether the resolution should be brought to the floor?

12. No, this is not correct - they are talking about the vote for a rule
that would bring the Hunter Bill to a vote. The Repubs voted YES (203), the Dems and 6 Reps voted NO as the vote is a scam.

14. So, the Hunter Bill won't come to the floor?
I'm sorry to seem so dense, but there's so much information flying around.

That sounds like a very good thing. In other words, the Repugs don't get their stunt.

Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 07:18 PM by lyonn
The are in a recess (?) at the moment, 6:45 p.m. Eastern. That is Hunter's version of Murtha's for pull-out in Iraq.

Edit: Still can't figure out what happen to Murtha's version.

it only seems fair that we should be able to tell them to cut the bullshit.
