Poll question: What will BushCo use as a pretext for declaring martial law?
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 06:47 PM by Mr_Jefferson_24
BushCo must silence the growing chorus of prominent critics and political dissenters. Fear and intimidation is sure to be their strategy. What will be their specific tactics? Will they stage a crisis? How will they justify the imposition of martial law? Try to think like Karl Rove.

2. Martial law requires soldiers to enforce it. Where are they going
to get them? The Louisianna National Guard? The Ohio National Guard? As far as I know the military vote in the 2004 Election was never released to the public. If I am wrong please correct me, if I am not, I bet I know why. PFCs whose families are on food stamps and who've been in Iraq a few times are not going to shoot American citizens in the streets unless they have post-traumatic stress disorder and probably not even then.

3. We'd be lucky if they use the Guard as those are our sons,
daughters, neighbors. My guess is that they will use NorthComm troops.

5. Excuse my ignorance what is NorthComm? Are these people

9. Its our new in-country army controlled by
**co and they are an extension of Homeland Security. My understanding is that unlike our guard who only do guard duty pt on weekends when we are not at war, these soldiers are full time and at our fearful leader's command to do what he wills when he wills it. One of them little 'incidental' things (standing army) thrown into the Homeland Security program.

I am not sure if they have parents ... just kidding. My orig post did sound like a bad episode of Twilight Zone, didn't it? :)

U.S. troops to apply deadly force in an organized fashion against their own people. Then again, I am an old white guy, if you know what I mean.

shoot him. Nor would an Arab or any other minority.

19. Who says
They would be US troops?? Weren't there rumors flying during the summer when a 4* was fired, about it having something to do with him having a problem training 50K troops who couldn't speak English???? How about Mexican and other foreign country's troops in NOLA after Katrina...???? How about Blackwater???

Anyway...trying to remember things that were mentioned in passing, that did happen and seemed insignificant...and yet, perhaps weren't...the main thing is....to never underestimate an opponent...

7. Concentration Camps (for Dems and Greens ?)
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 07:20 PM by EVDebs
Operations Cable Splicer and Garden Plot

THE LOCATION OF CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN AMERICA

http://www.geocities.com/northstarzone/CAMPS.html

"There over 800 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general's signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached. Ask yourself if you really want to be on THE list."

Once they round you up it won't really matter that much. Freepers will gladly round up their 'libral' neighbors...

Martial law is illegal on its face, since a suspension of the law of the land, the Constitution, would be required as Ollie North was well aware.

8. The first person who gets the sniffles this flu season...
and every MSM whore will be there with a correspondant, a camera and a microphone. It'll get 24/7 coverage. The MSM whores will get talking shitheads who will pull numbers like "150 million" out of their ass to whip the sheeple up into a frenzy. Every doctor's office and ER will be overwhelmed with idiots who will be convinced that they either have it or are going to get it. Shrub will seize the opportunity. He'll hop in a LifeFlight helicopter and land in the center of town while the MSM whores gush over whether the president "took the stick" on the way in. He'll hop out of the helicopter in a white lab coat (complete with presidential seal) carrying a black doctor's bag (also with presidential seal) for a carefully orchestrated photo-op with little Jimmy who had to stay home from school today. Although his doctor's bag really contains just crayons and some play-doh, * will do his best to look presidential while announcing that he is calling in the National Guard to... what's that?... they're all in Iraq?... that he is calling in the Army... hmm?... them too?...really?...Marines!...no?...them too?... Air Force?...Navy?...Coast Guard?...Park Rangers?...Boy Scouts?...really???... sent them too?... He'll announce that he is FEDERALIZING independent contractors from Black Water to seal off the area and quaratine the town. The MSM whores like Blitzer will prattle on about the president "taking charge" and "showing leadership" in the face of this "PANDEMIC".
A small boost in the polls (3-5%) will give * the "political capital" to attack Syria and Iran which will require more troops - DRAFT. The sons and daughters of the wealthy elite will of course be exempt. Not "Daddy will use his contacts to get me out of it", but EXEMPT through a new Republican bill passed in both houses UNANIMOUSLY that will legally exclude them from service. College Republicans of eligible service age will be recruited to fight the war over here by helping to round up those who are not excluded by act of Congress. The fresh soldiers will be sent over to the Middle East to guard the oil and those returning will be immediately sent to seize and quarantine cities and towns across the U.S. In the face of the pandemic, * will pull an FDR and extend his presidency into a third term.

In the end, Clinton will be blamed for everything.

21. Other: Whatever works
Whatever presents itself or can be managed to do the job. They tried to force martial law on Gov. Blanco after Katrina, for example, and lobbied for making it easier to declare martial law on disaster areas in the aftermath to Katrina, if you remember. They'll seize on any realistic ore even unrealistic opportunity.
