American voters in Canada (and other nations)

1. American voters overseas came up in the 2000 election

There was a lot of fussing in the media about how Democrats were trying to keep the overseas ballots from being counted, which were assumed to be mostly for * since they were from the military.

But there was no reason for Dems to do that, because there were also a lot of the types of voters you describe in the "overseas" set. (I know, Canada's not overseas, but still... :)) Non-military Americans living in other countries probably tend to vote Democratic.

It was another case of the media trying to make Gore look like a sore loser. And of course most people bought it.
