C&L Video Clip: Bill O'Reilly really, really pisses off San Francisco
Bill O'Reilly angers SF: Gives Al Qaeda the Green Light

San Francisco is mighty peeved at falafel Bill.

"If you want to ban military recruiting, fine. But I’m not going to give you another nickel of federal money,” O'Reilly said. “If I'm the president of the United States, I walk right into Union Square, I set up my little presidential podium and I say, ‘Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds.’”

Here's the link to an SF News Report with video

“If Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it,” he continued. “We're going to say, ‘look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead." (hat tip Steve)

1. Does this idiot realize that SF is off-limits to him now?
You don't go around insulting whole cities with millions of people.

2. "remember the source" -- as in: NO CREDIBILITY WHATSOEVER
and in fact is a pompus blowhard who should take his own advice, shut the hell up and stop telling other Americans how they should be American.

Because, frankly, that's unAmerican. ;-)

4. Sounds like Pat Robertsons' talking points
with a twist. Hard hearted/headed fanatics on a power trip.

5. does anyone still listen to his insanity
pat robertson tells a Pennsylvania town that "god" will punish them, and don't cry to anyone, while bill o'reilly, say the same thing about California

This is your repuke party today

Isn't it about time that the moderates in that party take back their party

6. He apparently doesn't realize that the way
SF gets money is because SF GAVE the money to the government in the first place. AND, probably SF doesn't get as much back as it gives.

Maybe the problem with repubs is they don't know HOW the flow of tax money goes.

10. Advocating the destruction of an American city
by terrorists sounds like a violation of the patriot act to me. Somebody needs to get ahold of Alberto Gonzales and have Mr oreilly sent to Guantanamo for a little attitude adjustment.

14. because a supporter of the fascist govt said it.
If a liberal said something like it, I can't imagine what we could say that would be similar, we'd be at gitmo before our next breath.

Remember Rather and the bush national guard papers - the only question about them was that all though they were accurate they weren't able to be authenticated. The right wanted to string him up but settled for his forced retirement.

15. I'd LOVE to see him or Bush try to speak in Union Square!
on their "little presidential podium".

Neither of them has the sack to appear in public anywhere in the US, much less a Blue State, and much less San Francisco.

16. As if Bill O'Reilly would ever get off his butt to protect anyone
but his white lily-livered, sexually obsessed butt. That man isn't capable of doing anything but spouting off nonsense, probably because his ratings must be in trouble and he needs to stir something up to bring in more viewers/listeners.

I'm not sure who ever told him his opinion held any more value than a bunch of drunken rednecks at the corner bar who can't get a date on a Saturday night, but clearly O'Reilly is in the same boat. Someone from the city should mention that if O'Reilly could get some female staff assistant to give him the BJ he so obviously dreams of each night, maybe he'd pay some attention to something real than reconstructing some over-the-rainbow vision of a bomb-pocked Oz as utopia.

He also needs to clarify who he means by "WE". . .because I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to ask him to speak for them.

17. O'Lielly cares about one thing....his pocketbook,
he see's his idol Bush going down. He knows without him he will be the ONE HIT WONDER and his show will be gone. With it his crappy book sales too.

He went way tooo far on this one!!

I hope Gavin Newsom kicks his ass and calls for a boycott.
