questions about her agreeing to attribute Libby's statements to "a former Hill staffer". After stating in print that she agreed to do this, in her interview on NPR she lies about her earlier statement and tells Montaigne that "she never agreed to do that" and claimed she only took Libby's statement on that basis because she intended to come back to him later and persuade him to let her attribute it properly. She claimed this is something that is done in Washington all the time. When Montaigne asked her if it was something that she did regularly she got testy and said it wasn't something she did often but that was done regularly. She then claimed Montaigne was hostile.
Whiny, combative, dissembling, unapologetic sums her up. I'd add testy and lying to the list of adjectives. She's an awful person. I can see why she was hated by her co-workers at the Times.
By the way, she has nothing good to say about Maureen Dowd.
