Important talking point - Reid did NOT shut down the Senate last week.
He forced the entire Senate to deal with an issue that the repub leadership in the Intelligence Committee was ignoring.

1. Yes indeed, it was not a shut down of the Senate but rather
a forced Closed Session, where repukes were forced to deal with the issues presented by Reid.

2. Exactly, it it were shut down, then the Senate floor would have
been empty.

Reid FORCED the GOP to be responsible, for once.

3. Correct. He didn't shut down the Senate...
He opened up the Intelligence Committee.

4. It Was Never A Shut Down
I have been wondering if the statement that the "senate was shut down" is not wrong to begin with. My understanding of something being shut down is that "no business/activity" is done. But in the case of what Reid did the senate went into "closed" session - away from the public - to deal with classified issue(s). That, in my book, is not being shut down!
Yes you are absolutely right in stating the issue correctly.

5. A lock down maybe?
My daughters have described to me what happens when their school is locked down. It means that no outsiders can access the school building until the lock down is declared over. So, if we want to use dramatic, easy-to-understand language for the MSM and poor, uneducated freepers and B*shies, perhaps we can say it was a Senate Lock Down.
