4. What are they buying?
They seem to be trying to buy several Latin American nations, a few Central Asian dictatorships, and a couple of emerging Eastern European democracies, to name a few.

Though you'd have to add in all the NED money and that of half a dozen other gov't departments to see the full expenditure.

3. Jeez, ya think BushCo could spare a few bucks to patch some potholes
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 08:28 PM by SpiralHawk
The country's infrastructure is going to hell, and BushCo is frittering away our tax dollars on Nation Building, and phony intelligence which then morphs to propaganda.

Take a ride on I-40 and see the result of BushCo-Republican financial screw ups...bump, bump, bump

7. How is this breaking news?
If you Google this, many articles have reported the annual intelligence budget as about $40 billion. In fact, the intelligence budget has been common knowledge since it was first declassified in 1997.

So...why this story? And I love how they say it's "developing" - like they don't have all the info yet. They could have the info from a Google search, or from reading the annual budget. I know Raw Story is left-wing, but I have a hard time trusting them.
