More Bad News for DeWineby Mike Liddell Mon Nov 7th, 2005 at 12:08:51 PM EST

The polls just keep coming in with more bad news for Republican Senators. A Columbus Dispatch poll (subscription required) released today showed Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Sherrod Brown defeating incumbent Senator Mike DeWine, while Democratic candidate Paul Hackett trails DeWine by only one percentage point. The poll showed Brown beating Dewine 35% to 31% and DeWine narrowly beating Hackett 32% to 31%.

Even more revealing: the poll shows a large number of undecideds in the race. You’d think an incumbent Senator who has been in office for nearly 12 years could do a little better than that. Not Mike DeWine. In a match-up against Brown 34% said they were undecided, and against Hackett 37% were undecided. It looks like DeWine’s poor leadership and irresponsible policies will be coming back to haunt him in the 2006 election.

1. A two term incumbent should be polling at least 45-50% if they...
want a chance at another term.

3. Name is too similar to "DeLay" for comfort.
Basically another big suit republican asshole on his way out the door.

5. the two dem candidates and the dem party disagree with you
so do I.

We all know there are serious problems in Ohio, but we haven't bought into the "hopless" stuff.

8. All I am saying:
if DeWine wins, I will be convinced that Diebold machines were programmed for his victory.
